2 day course including the theory and practical elements of driving off-road and operating vehicle mounted winches.
Course itinerary:
Day 1
Full class room presentation on:
- Legality / policies
- Vehicle rights / permission
- Vehicle type & suitability
- Specialist controls
Practical training covering:
- Daily vehicle checks
- Understanding & use of specialist controls
- Basic off-road driving skills
- Specialist off-road driving techniques
Day 2
Full class room presentation on:
- Winch operator safety
- Winch Types
- Essential ancillary equipment
- Loadings and load ratings
- Winching techniques
Practical training covering:
- Checking the winch & ancillary equipment
- Review of driving skills presented on day 1
- Carrying out straight, angled and 2:1 winch recoveries
